又一說 another theory (explanation): doctrine: 異說，邪說 heresy, strange, evil doctrine.
說好話，說壞話 speak well, ill, of person;
說他好，不好 praise him, disapprove of him;
說大話，謊話 boast, lie;
說鬼話, see 說話 [shuo1hua4]↓;
oft. with vb. complements 來，去，上，下，出，開，得, esp. with 得 (positive) and 不 (negative), see 說得，說來，說不上，說不得，說不清, [shuo1de2], [shuo1lai2], [shuo1bu4shang4], [shuo1bu4de2], [shuo1bu4qing1], etc.↓;
說不出 cannot say;
說得過去，說不過去 makes sense, does not make sense;
說來說去 after all is said and done, no matter how you put it;
oft. coupled with 道, chat freely, without order: 說東道西，說天道地，說三道四，說長道短 just talk, gossip, random talk;
說著玩兒 talk for talking's sake, do not take one seriously;
說了不算 words do not count, just talk;
胡說，瞎說，亂說 talk nonsense;
說溜了嘴 make a slip of the tongue;
說叉了 get into a dispute by using strong words.
(2) To rebuke, scold: 說了他一頓 gave him a scolding;
數說 to reprove (s.o. for his mistakes).

3.說不齊 [shuo1bu4qi2], phr., cannot say for sure.

5.說不來 [shuo1bu4lai2], phr., (1) cannot say it; (2) 彼此說不來 they cannot get along with each other.
6.說不上 [shuo1bu4shang4], phr., unqualified to be mentioned as such: 你這些話都說不上 all that you say is irrelevant.

8.說不過來 [shuo1bu2guo4lai2], phr., contrary to common sense or common decency (not to include person on list, etc.).
9.說起 [shuo1qi3], v.i. & t., to mention: 說起這件事 to mention this affair; 說起來我們還是同學 now that it is mentioned, we were in the same school; 說起來 to discuss (subject); in regard to.
10.說親 [shuo1qin1], v.i., to speak for a girl's hand in marriage.
11.說清 [shuo1qing1], v.t., to make clear: 說不清(affair) difficult to explain.

16.說得 [shuo1de2], phr., possible to mention; with complement: 說得好，說得妙 well said; 說不得 (a) unmentionable, unspeakable: 他人品壞得說不得 his character is unspeakably bad; (b) perhaps: 說不得要你親自對他說 there is perhaps no way except to speak to him yourself; 說得著 [shuo1de0zhao2], phr., (a) permissible or necessary to say: 這些話都是說得著的; phr., (b) qualified to speak to s.o.; (c) can get along together: 說得來 (cf. [shuo1bu4lai2]↑).
17.說法 [shuo1fa3], v.i., (Budd.) to expound teachings: 另外一種說法 another way of looking at it; 現身說法personally appear to teach or explain; 憑你的說法 according to what you say.

26.說章兒 [shuo1zhang1er0], n., (1) talk; (2) (dial.) terms of negotiation.

28.說知 [shuo1zhi1], v.t., to inform, let s.o. know: 向他說知 let him know.
29.說開 [shuo1kai1], V.i. & t., (1) to explain , explain away, allay fears; (2) (phrase, term) has become current.
30.說客 [shuo1](')[ke4], (1) n., one who undertakes to “sell an idea”: 疑我做說客 suspects I am a hired agent (to speak for s.o.); (2) (*[shui4ke4]) n., (AC) professional politicians who travelled from country to country to convince ruler of some scheme.

32.說兒 [shuo1er0], n., (1) s.t. to say: 沒什麼說兒 nothing to say; (2) terms, esp. reference to bribery.
33.說來 [shuo1lai2], phr., to mention (a subject): 說來話長 it's a long story to tell; 說來都是朋友 come to speak of it, we are all friends.

35.說夢 [shuo1meng4], phr., talk nonsense: 癡人說夢 tell some fantastic tale or idea.
36.說媒 [shuo1mei2], v.i., to act as go-between for betrothal: 請人說媒 ask s.o. to act as go-between.
