本科講解邏輯學的應用和語意學的應用，旨在研究用來發掘事實和建 構理論中所使用的論證——分析其作用和結構，以教導學生邏輯推理 和論證的方法和技藝，以及在溝通、討論和辯論中所應用的語意釐清 和語意重構。講解範圍包括：

 

  1. 事實與價值
  2. 真假與對錯（對確性）
  3. 經驗問題與邏輯問題
  4. 語言、事實和邏輯
  5. 論證的使用
  6. 邏輯應用——目的、方法與系統選擇
  7. 邏輯學與語意學
  8. 邏輯與論辯
（哲學主副修生不得選修本科作通識教育科目。） 

Course Description of GEE282A

2U; 2 Lect.
This is a course of applied logic and applied semantics, designed to analyse the purpose and the structure of argumentation in fact-finding and theory building. Students will be introduced to the arts and methodologies of logical reasonings and argumentation and semantical clarification and reconstruction in communication, discussion and debate. Topics of discussion include:

 

  1. Fact and Value,
  2. Truthand Validity,
  3. Empirical Vs Logical Questions,
  4. Language, Fact and Logic,
  5. Use of Argument,
  6. Application of Logic--Which, What for, and How?,
  7. Logic and Semantics,
  8. Logic and Debate.
(Philosophy Majors and Minors cannot take this course to fulfil General Education requirements.)
