History and Society:
During the first term lectures and readings deal with history as perspective and method in the humanities, the social and the physical sciences. Special attention is given to historiography and the problems of interpretation and judgment.
During the second term the structure and dynamics of human society are studied from the historical perspective of Plato’s Republic.
