課程大綱


本科目旨在培養學生對語言的自覺--特別是對母語(漢語)的認識。課中將採
用討論、辯論、閱讀批判及寫作修改等方式改善學生的語言能力,精進學生的思
考方法。本課也討論創造性思考和闡釋性思辯的區別以及字面原義和比喻用法的
關聯。為了加強教學效果,課中兼採漢語和外語(通常為英語)之比較研究,以
顯現漢語思考和漢語寫作的特質。(中文系主修生及副修生選讀本課程,將以普
通選修科目計算。)


This course aims to cultivate students' consciousness of language, in particular, their mother tongue(Chinese). Class discussion and debate, critical reading and writing will be used to improve the students' capability of language and their methodology of thinking. Distinction between creative and explicative thinking, and relationship between literal and metaphorical expression will also be addressed. Comparison of the Chinese language with a foreign language (usually English) is also made to explain the distinctive features of thinking through the Chinese language and writing Chinese. (Chinese Majors and Minors cannot take this course to fulfil General Education Requirements.)
